Project Description
40 Burg Street is situated in the city centre of Cape Town and consisting of 7 floors. The building is a historic building.
The project scope included renovating the building and re-zoning it as a boutique hotel.
As part of the scope of work, new fire plans were developed. A fire detection system was installed, and the existing fire protection services were renovated, and new hose reels and a booster connection was added. The lobby is protected by fire shutters.
A new kitchen extract system, ventilation supply systems, bathroom extract systems and a lift shaft pressurisation system were installed.
A new water storage tank and variable speed pump installation including hot water geysers and heat pumps were installed as part of the renovations.
